Utah Private Investigator License

Utah Private Investigator License

Are you interested in getting a Utah private investigator permit, but you are worried that it is going to be a tough and long process? Don’t worry, if you are aware of the main steps, you will easily get to your dream job.

Apprenticeship

In the state, the Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau oversees the licensure process of Private Investigators.

When you first begin your journey, you start with the PI apprentice’s license. By acquiring the permit the residents will be able to be employed by an agency. However, it does not allow you to work for yourself. Still, if apprentices want to go ahead with their careers, they need to take special courses and training. Thus, solely working under supervision is not enough for gaining a higher permit.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship, applicants should meet the following conditions:

  • Be 18 and older
  • Be a resident
  • Good behavior and clear records
  • A surety bond of $10 000
  • Obligatory payment
